DEPUTY CEO OF CWSA VISITS BONO REGION TO ASSESS WATER SYSTEMS AND DISCUSS EXPANSION PLANS

On Friday, 2nd May 2025, the Deputy CEO of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), Mr. Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha, paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Bono Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Addae Akwaboa in his office at the Bono Regional Coordinating Council.
He was accompanied by the Bono Regional Manager, Dr. Gustav Merit Osiakwan, and Principal Extension Services Specialist, Mr. George N.N. Amartei.
The visit by the Deputy CWSA CEO aimed to evaluate the functionality of existing water systems in the region, strengthen management practices, and explore plans for expanding access to safe drinking water in under-served communities.

During the engagement, the Regional Minister expressed strong support for the agency’s mission and appealed for a significant allocation of borehole facilities to the Bono Region.
The discussions also focused on encouraging greater participation from NGOs and the private sector in improving water accessibility.
The Regional Minister also highlighted the need to consider the youth of the region in future recruitment efforts by CWSA.
Both the Regional Minister and the CWSA officials expressed optimism about the outcomes of the meeting, emphasizing a shared commitment to ensuring the continuous provision of safe drinking water and extending coverage to communities that remain unreached.
