BONO REGIONAL MINISTER RECEIVES COURTESY CALL FROM NATIONAL AMBULANCE SERVICE OFFICIALS

On May 12, 2025, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, received a courtesy call from Mr. Alfred K. Amoah, the Bono Regional Director of the National Ambulance Service, accompanied by his team.
The delegation extended warm congratulations on the Minister’s recent appointment and expressed heartfelt condolences following the passing of the Chief Director, Mr. Andrews Mensah.
During the meeting, Mr. Amoah shared valuable insights into the critical services provided by the National Ambulance Service. He reported that the service had responded to approximately 500 cases in the Bono Region so far this year, continuing from over 1,000 cases attended to in the previous year.
A key highlight of the discussion was a proposal by the National Ambulance Service to offer basic life support training to staff of the Bono Regional Coordinating Council (RCC). The Minister welcomed the initiative and encouraged its expansion to other offices within the region, recognizing the potential benefits to public service operations.

However, challenges within the service were also brought to light. Mr. Amoah noted that only 7 out of the 14 ambulances in the region were currently operational, significantly limiting their response capacity.
In response, the Regional Minister pledged to work closely with municipal and district assemblies to address the issue and ensure the National Ambulance Service receives the support necessary to fulfill its mandate.
Looking ahead, the Minister reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening collaboration with the service, expressing confidence that continued partnership would yield tangible benefits for the people of Bono and reinforce collective efforts to enhance public health and safety in the region.
