During the session, Hon. Kwans Abel was elected as the new Presiding Member, securing 73.17% of the total assembly votes which is a reflection of the strong confidence Assembly Members have in his leadership.

In addition, Hon. George Adane, the President’s nominee, was unanimously confirmed as the District Chief Executive, receiving 100% of the valid votes cast which is a rare and historic endorsement.

Hon. Akwaboa congratulated both newly confirmed leaders and emphasized the importance of upholding principles of good governance as they assume their respective roles. He also assured the Assembly that plans are underway to rehabilitate key roads in the district, with particular attention to the Jinjini to Sampa corridor.

Further, he highlighted the district’s strategic role in cashew production and announced that efforts are being made to explore the establishment of cashew processing factories in the area. These initiatives are expected to stimulate the local economy and create job opportunities.

The Regional Minister reaffirmed his commitment to supporting local leadership in driving development and improving the livelihoods of the people in Jaman North and the wider Bono Region.

Mr. George Adani, the DCE thanked the Assembly Members for his overwhelming endorsement and stressed his readiness to embrace everybody in the development process of the district.
