JAMAN SOUTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ENDORSES PRESIDENT NOMINEE FOR MCE

The 57-Member Assembly has endorsed Madam Siata Watara, the President nominee as the Jaman South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the Bono Region on 8th April 2025.
The President nominee received an overwhelming endorsement from the Assembly Members, securing 55 ‘yes’ votes, representing 96%, in an election conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission at Drobo, the Municipal capital.
In her acceptance speech, Madam Watara said she remained focused to push sustainable development, pledging to collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve her vision for the municipality of creating more jobs and enhancing the socio-economic livelihoods of the people.

She said she had prioritised improved security, education, and agriculture, and pledged to promote transparency and accountability as well as gender equality, equity and inclusivity in decision-making processes.
Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, said he was confident in the MCE and asked her not to disappoint the President and the nation in her service.

Hon. Akwaboa also assured the new MCE that the Bono Regional Coordinating Council will fully support her. He also announced that plans are underway to reconstruct major roads in Jaman South, mirroring ongoing infrastructure projects in Jaman North, particularly the Jinjini-Drobo-Sampa road corridor.
Assembly members were encouraged by the Regional Minister to unite in their efforts to accelerate progress across the municipality. With a shared vision and sustained collaboration, significant improvements in the lives of Jaman South residents are anticipated.
Justice Gabriel Martey-Teye, a high court Judge in Sunyani later took the MCE through the oaths of office, allegiance, and secrecy.
