BONO REGIONAL MINISTER VISITS NACOC TO SUPPORT ANTI-NARCOTICS EFFORTS

As part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with key government institutions, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, paid a working visit to the Bono Regional Office of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) on 24th July 2025.

The visit underscored the critical role NACOC plays in addressing drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the region.

The Commission, mandated to control the supply of narcotic drugs and curb substance abuse, was commended by the Minister for its vital contribution to public safety and community well-being. The Minister expressed appreciation for the commitment and professionalism of the NACOC team, led by the Regional Commander, in addressing the multifaceted challenges posed by narcotics.

During the engagement, the Regional Minister was briefed on the Commission’s operational challenges. In response, he pledged his full support to help enhance the agency’s effectiveness.

He further assured the team of his commitment to facilitate the relocation of the office to a more suitable location, aimed at improving operations and strengthening the fight against drug trafficking and abuse.

The Minister reaffirmed his dedication to working closely with NACOC to promote a safer and healthier Bono Region.

He expressed confidence that such partnerships would yield meaningful results in the ongoing battle against narcotics and contribute to building a brighter future for the region’s residents.
