On 30th August 2025, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, served as the Special Guest of Honour at the matriculation and induction ceremony for beneficiaries of the National Apprenticeship Program held at the GNAT Hostel in Sunyani.

The event brought together hundreds of young Ghanaians ready to upskill and enhance their future prospects through technical and vocational training.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Akwaboa emphasized the importance of taking the program seriously, especially in light of the country’s pressing youth unemployment challenges.

With nearly 1.2 million young people aged 15 to 35 facing unemployment or underemployment, he underscored the need for equipping the next generation with relevant, marketable skills.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to remain dedicated and make the most of the opportunity presented to them. He also urged instructors involved in the program to share their knowledge and expertise diligently, ensuring that trainees are fully prepared to meet the demands of the workforce.

According to the Regional Minister, investing in the youth is a direct investment in Ghana’s future.

He expressed optimism about the potential impact of the program and extended his best wishes to the beneficiaries as they embark on their journey.
