BONO REGIONAL MINISTER JOINS LAUNCH OF ANTI-ILLEGAL MINING TRAINING IN SUNYANI

On 23rd September 2025, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, joined the launch of a four-day anti-illegal mining training program organized by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, at the 3rd Infantry Battalion in Sunyani.

The event formed part of President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to combating illegal mining (galamsey) in Ghana.

The training highlighted the operations of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS), a task force made up of officers from the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, and the National Investigations Bureau.

NAIMOS has been mandated to fight against all illegal mining activities across the country.

This initiative represents a significant step in the President’s broader agenda to reset the nation, restore lands degraded by illegal mining, and safeguard Ghana’s natural environment for future generations.
