The Human Resource Unit of the Bono Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) held its bi-annual meeting for all Human Resource Managers (HRs) in the region on 26th August 2025 at the RCC Conference Room in Sunyani.

The meeting brought together HR Managers from all 12 Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Bono Region to deliberate on key responsibilities, share experiences, and address emerging issues in their line of work.

Mrs. Akua Gyekyewaa Antwi, Senior Human Resource Manager at the RCC, welcomed participants and encouraged them to openly share their concerns and contributions. She highlighted that such engagements provide a platform for addressing challenges faced in the various districts.

In his opening address, the Acting Regional Coordinating Director (Ag. RCD), Mr. Nar-ire Puobenyere David, stressed the importance of timely submission of staff data, describing it as a persistent challenge since assuming office.

He urged HR Managers to demonstrate greater commitment, avoid delays, and maximize efficiency by working collaboratively. He commended their dedication to duty while encouraging active participation throughout the meeting.

The technical sessions featured several presentations:

  • Mr. Charles Amoah led a session on Training, emphasizing the need for thorough needs assessments before initiating programs to properly identify gaps and challenges.
  • Mr. Collins Safo and Mr. Robert Adubofour from the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) made a presentation on Public Financial Management and the Legal Framework.
  • Mr. Ferdinand Forfoe, representing Hedge Pensions Trust, briefed participants on the administration of Tier 2 and Tier 3 pension funds for CLOGSAG members, noting that the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) serves as regulator while Hedge Pensions Trust administers the funds.

An open forum followed, during which questions on promotions, inputs, reporting, and HRMIS were raised. Mrs. Antwi provided clarifications and guidance on the issues discussed.

In closing, Mr. Puobenyere addressed the concerns raised and assured participants of management’s commitment to addressing them. He emphasized the need for effective staff monitoring, performance contracts, timely reporting, and salary validation.

Mrs. Antwi expressed gratitude to all participants for their attendance and urged them to continue working diligently in their respective districts.
