BONO REGIONAL MINISTER OPENS 2025 MANGO FAIR, HIGHLIGHTS INDUSTRY’S POTENTIAL

The 2025 Mango Fair was officially opened in Sunyani on 26th June by the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa.
The event, organized by the Sunyani Greenfield Mango Farmers Association, featured an impressive showcase of mango-based innovations, from food products to medicinal applications and food additives.
According to the Regional Minister, the fair underscored the vast potential of the mango industry, positioning mango not just as a delicious fruit but as a vehicle for employment creation, export revenue, and rural economic transformation.

He emphasized that this potential is precisely why the government of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama continues to prioritize support for mango farmers through targeted programmes such as the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) and specialized initiatives under the Ghana Tree Crops Development Authority.
These interventions, the Minister noted, are designed to improve access to certified seedlings, training in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and strong market linkages.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting farmers and entrepreneurs along the mango value chain to foster agriculture-led development and broader economic growth for the people of Bono.
