BONO REGIONAL MINISTER JOINS MUSLIMS COMMUNITY TO CELEBRATE EID-UL-ADHA

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, joined the Muslim community at the Sunyani Jubilee Park on June 6, 2025, to mark the Eid-Ul-Adha celebration.
Representing His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Akwaboa conveyed warm greetings and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare and development of the Muslim community.
He highlighted that the government, under the leadership of President Mahama, remains dedicated to implementing policies aimed at improving the lives of Muslims across the country.
One such initiative is the planned upgrade of the Hajj Village, designed to streamline the pilgrimage process and increase access for more Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation.

Hon. Akwaboa also emphasized the government’s focus on creating sustainable employment opportunities for Muslim youth. He encouraged young people to avoid illegal mining activities and instead take advantage of the upcoming job opportunities being rolled out across the country.
As part of efforts to tackle environmental degradation and clamp down on illegal mining, the Bono Regional Task Force has made significant progress. So far, 10 Chinese nationals and 17 Ghanaians have been arrested, and several excavating machines have been seized in the region.
In a show of solidarity and support, Hon. Akwaboa donated food staples to the Muslim community during the festivities. He extended heartfelt wishes for a blessed Eid-Ul-Adha and offered prayers that Allah accepts their sacrifices and grants them His abundant mercy.
