BONO REGIONAL MINISTER COMMENDS COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSES AT NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN SUNYANI

On 15th May 2025, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, participated as Guest of Honour at the National Special Delegates Conference of the Community Health Nurses Association, Ghana (CHNAG), held in Sunyani, widely recognized as Ghana’s cleanest city.

In his address, the Minister warmly welcomed delegates to the region and expressed deep appreciation for the vital role Community Health Nurses (CHNs) play in the country’s healthcare system.

He acknowledged their ongoing contributions to preventive healthcare, health education, and maternal and child health services, noting that their work has significantly improved public health outcomes and empowered families across the nation.

The conference was held under the theme “Welfare and Contribution of Community Health Nurses in Achieving Quality Universal Health Coverage.” The theme, the Minister noted, aptly underscored the indispensable role CHNs play in realizing equitable and quality healthcare for all.

The Minister reiterated his awareness of the challenges faced by Community Health Nurses and reaffirmed the commitment of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama’s government to addressing concerns around professional development, fair compensation, and the creation of a safe working environment.

The Minister extended his commendation to all hardworking CHNs, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in building a healthcare system that serves as a beacon of hope for every Ghanaian.

With sustained collaboration and support, he expressed confidence in Ghana’s ability to achieve a healthier and more resilient future.
