BONO RCC HOLD 4TH QUARTER 2024 AND EXPANDED REGIONAL PLANNING COORDINATING UNIT MEETING IN SUNYANI

The Bono Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) held its 4th Quarter 2024 and expanded Regional Planning Coordinating Unit (RPCU) Meeting as stipulated in section 198 (3) of the Local Government Act, Act 936 on Wednesday, 29th January 2025, at the Conference Room of the RCC in Sunyani.

The expanded meeting provided an opportunity for other sectors of the Public Service who are not members of the RPCU to attend and participate in the deliberations.

The Departments that attended the meeting were Ghana Water Company Limited, NADMO, LUSPA, Forestry Commission, National Health Insurance Authority, Environmental Protection Agency, Public Works, Social Welfare, Community Development, Rural Housing, National Sports Authority, Ghana Library Authority, Ghana Tourism Authority, Health Directorate, Education Directorate, Community Water and Sanitation, NEDCo/VRA, Ghana Police Service, Stool Lands, Gender, Children, Agriculture among others.

Other heads of units and some staff at the central administration of the RCC were also in attendance which include Development Planning, Environmental Health and Sanitation, Budget, Finance among others.

In his opening remarks, the Chief Director of Bono RCC, Mr. Andrews Mensah, welcomed members to the meeting and wished members a happy new year. He encouraged members to keep up the good work they do in their various departments for the betterment of the region and Ghana.

Mr. Mensah took members through the agenda of the day and led members to discuss the minutes of the previous meeting which allowed members who were present during that meeting to make corrections where necessary and subsequently adopted the minutes.

Some departments made presentations on their respective sector initiatives especially their 4th quarter activities which attracted questions for further deliberations and clarifications.

The Development Planning Unit also took members through the template for filling of implementation report on the 2024 4th Quarter Annual Action Plan.

The Regional Development Planning Officer urged members who have not submitted their 4th Quarter Progress Report to the RCC to do so as the deadline for submission of the report to the Office of Head of Local Government Service was only a week away.

Other relevant issues were discussed for the growth of the region.
