BONO REGIONAL MINISTER JOINS GEA TO EMPOWER 250 YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS THROUGH BIZBOX PROJECT

A total of 250 graduates of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA)–Mastercard Foundation Business in a Box (BizBox) Project have received start-up kits to help them turn their skills, business ideas and entrepreneurial aspirations into viable and sustainable enterprises.

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, participated in the start-up kits distribution ceremony in Sunyani on 1st September 2026 alongside the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprises Agency, Margaret Ansei.

The distribution forms part of efforts under the BizBox Project to empower young people with the practical tools, resources and opportunities required to establish businesses, create decent employment and build sustainable livelihoods.

The initiative represents a significant investment in youth empowerment and entrepreneurship development, with beneficiaries expected to apply the skills and resources acquired to establish and grow enterprises that can contribute to local economic activity and Ghana’s broader economic transformation.

Speaking on the significance of the intervention, Hon. Akwaboa highlighted the importance of initiatives such as the BizBox Project in developing a resilient generation of young Ghanaian entrepreneurs capable of driving innovation, expanding economic opportunities and contributing to national development.

He noted that equipping young people with relevant skills, resources and opportunities goes beyond supporting individual beneficiaries, describing it as an investment in Ghana’s future.

The BizBox initiative is expected to strengthen youth participation in entrepreneurship while supporting job creation, livelihood development and the growth of sustainable businesses.
