URBAN ROADS DEPARTMENT UNDERTAKES REHABILITATION OF DROBO – KWASIBOUKROM ROAD AND LINKS

The Drobo-Kwasiboukrom Road project was part of a package aimed at enhancing safety at critical intersections within the Drobo Municipality. These intersections were identified as bottlenecks in managing traffic flow in Drobo town.

The objectives of the project include the following: Improve mobility within Drobo township, Enhance safety at critical intersections, Improve connectivity for residents and commuters alike.

The scope of works includes: Drainage Works, Earthworks, Pavement Works, Surfacing works.

The contractor has completed 1.5km of 0.6m U drains to date. Progress on the project has been encouraging. Physical and financial progress stands at 15.13% and 15.78% respectively.

1no. Interim Payment Certificate has been raised on the project to date. The contractor is currently on site.

The primary challenge with the project is that the contractor is having difficulty identifying suitable gravel or borrow pits for the earthworks.
