HON. GLORIA OPOKU GYAMFI CONFIRMED AS WENCHI MCE WITH FULL SUPPORT FROM REGIONAL MINISTER

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Hon. Gloria Opoku Gyamfi was officially confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly from the 41-member Wenchi Municipal Assembly in the Bono Region.

Her nomination received overwhelming approval, with 80.40% of the total valid votes cast during a special meeting of the Assembly.

Prior to voting, Mr. Gyimah Yakubu, the Wenchi Municipal Coordinating Director, urged the Assembly Members (AMs) to endorse the President Nominee to facilitate the speedy development of the municipality.

Following her confirmation, Hon. Opoku Gyamfi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to collaborate with stakeholders to drive socio-economic development across the municipality.

She said the Assembly required the inputs and views of everybody in bringing the development of the municipality to the next level. She pledged to work devoid of partisanship in the implementation of government policies and programmes.

The Assembly also successfully elected Mr. Henry Ameworwor, the Assembly Member for the Pramaso Twiesiase Electoral Area in the Municipality, also the Headmaster of the Nchiraa Methodist Basic School as its Presiding Member.

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, congratulated her on the achievement and praised her strong sense of determination and work ethic. He expressed confidence in her ability to advance the President’s development agenda and deliver tangible progress for the people of Wenchi.

The Regional Minister also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting her administration, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving shared goals for the region’s growth and prosperity.
