BONO CNC PARTICIPATE IN NAFAC CELEBRATIONS

The months of July through November had the Centre for National Culture (CNC) preparing for the NAFAC National Celebration in November.

Various meetings were held to engage Institutional Heads, the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), House of Chiefs, Artistic Groups etc. to solicit support for the celebration.
Researches were undertaken on indigenous cultural peculiarities in dance, songs and crafts towards the festival.

One of these was the Gongo dance and the origin of the Apoo festival of the Dibebi people. There was also a call for an audition to select a female and male vested in the regional culture for the Mr. and Miss NAFAC. The Performing and Visual Arts were all prepared for the celebration.

The grand celebration was held at Techiman with the Bono Region performing on the 30th November. Bono Regional performances were filled with colorful and rich cultural stage arts, sikyi, kete and a display of the arts and crafts of the region at the Exhibition stands. The lively performances moved the Executive Director to his feet.

The Bono region performed alongside the Volta, Western and Upper West regions.
