She noted that the project complements the government’s “Year of Roads” declaration for 2022 and 2023.
She urged stakeholders to ensure the longevity of the equipment through proper storage and regular maintenance so that it can serve its purpose for the benefit of the residents.
The equipment received includes a tipper truck, water tanker, two concrete mixers, a roller, a backhoe, and a motor grader.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Evans Kusi Boadum, praised the government for prioritizing the welfare of citizens.
“Prioritizing the welfare of the citizens, the government is committed to initiating programs and policies aimed at bringing relief to the people,” he stated.
The Member of Parliament for the Sunyani West Constituency, Mr. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, explained that the DRIP project is designed to empower Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the necessary resources and equipment to rehabilitate and maintain roads within their jurisdictions, thereby facilitating meaningful improvements.
He added that the equipment would enhance road networks in the respective communities and electoral areas, ensuring that all roads are motorable and that overall road conditions in the municipality are improved.
Mr. Baffour Awuah emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of the people and urged residents to retain him and the New Patriotic Party in power in the December 7, 2024 elections to continue their good work.
