HON. STEPHEN AZORBA AWUNI CONFIRMED AS DORMAA WEST DCE WITH UNANIMOUS SUPPORT

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, participated in a special assembly meeting of the Dormaa West District Assembly on Friday, April 4, 2025, held at the Assembly’s office premises. The event marked a significant milestone in the district’s governance journey.
The proceedings began with the election of the new Presiding Member, Mr. Agyeman Yeboah Evans, who secured 83.3% of the total valid votes cast, a strong indication of the Assembly’s confidence in his leadership.
Following his election, Mr. Yeboah Evans presided over the confirmation of the President’s nominee, Hon. Stephen Azorba Awuni, as the new District Chief Executive.

Hon. Awuni received unanimous support with 100% of the valid votes cast, underscoring the Assembly Members’ overwhelming confidence in his capabilities.
The meeting also included the swearing-in of five newly appointed Assembly Members. The oath of office was administered by Justice Gabriel Mate-Teye, Supervising High Court Judge of the Sunyani High Court.
Hon. Akwaboa extended his congratulations to both Hon. Stephen Azorba Awuni and Mr. Agyeman Yeboah Evans on their new appointments. He expressed confidence in their ability to lead the Dormaa West District toward greater unity, growth, and prosperity, contributing meaningfully to the broader development of the Bono Region.
