HON. JOSEPH ADDAE AKWABOA INSPECTS ILLEGAL MINING SITES AT BANDA
The Hon. Bono Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, on 13th February 2025, inspected some illegal mining sites, popularly known as galamsey sites at Banda.
The Banda District is known for its cashew and food crops prospects but the activities of illegal miners in recent times poses a threat to the survival of these staple crops.
Hon. Akwaboa therefore inspected these illegal mining sites in the company of some Police Personnel to get first hand information on these activities.
The Minister as part of the inspection also visited the home of one of the Chiefs who was mentioned by some of the illegal miners as being complicit to have an interaction with him.
The Minister has vowed to do everything within his authority to clamp down on the activities of illegal miners.
