On the 25th of February, 2025, the Bono Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Imam Baba Seidu, accompanied by his delegation of Imams and Chiefs from all the twelve districts of the Bono Region, paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Bono Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, at his Office at the Bono Regional Coordinating Council (BRCC). This visit served to further strengthen the relationship and foster a spirit of collaboration and harmony between the Muslim community and the Office of the Regional Coordinating Council.

During the meeting, discussions centered around key issues affecting the Muslim community in the region. Among the topics addressed were the construction of a new mosque to cater to the growing number of worshippers, and the pressing sanitation concerns within the Muslim communities. The chiefs and Imams also shared insightful perspectives on the unique challenges and opportunities facing the Zongo community, from education and healthcare to economic empowerment and social cohesion Both parties expressed a shared commitment to ensuring the welfare of the Muslim population and creating an environment conducive to their religious and social needs.

In a moment of gratitude, the Chief Imam also took the opportunity to thank His Excellency the President for the recent reduction in fees for the Hajj pilgrimage, a move that has made the sacred journey more accessible to many Muslims.

This visit marks a significant step toward enhancing collaboration between the Bono Regional Coordinating Council and the Muslim community, ensuring that their needs are addressed and their voices are heard in matters of regional development and welfare.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of unity and the commitment to work together for the common good of all residents in the region.
