BONO RCC ORGANIZES TRAINING ON FINANCIAL RISK MANAGEMNT FOR STAFF OF MMDAs

As part of the implementation of the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program (GSCSP), the Bono Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) through the Annual Capacity Support Plan (ACSP) is to provide capacity building support to partner Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) based on their capacity needs.

On Tuesday, 17th September 2024, the Bono RCC thus organized a training workshop on Financial Risk Management at the Conference Room of the RCC in Sunyani.

The training targeted Staff of Procurement, Internal Audit, Budget, Planning and Finance Units.

In his opening remarks, the Regional Development Planning Officer, Mr. Joseph Mensah, on behalf of the Regional Minister and Chief Director, admonished Staff to take keen interest in the training as it will go a long way to sanitize and correct many of the mistakes that come up in financial transactions at the Assemblies and RCC. He also encouraged staff to ask questions for clarity on issues that bothers them on financial risk management.

The facilitator and consultant for the training workshop was Mr. Dramani Apour, Municipal Finance Officer at the Sunyani Municipal Assembly.

Mr. Dramani took participants through topics like Introduction to Financial Risk Management, Measurement and Management of Financial Risk, Revenue Management, among others.

After the training, there was a questions and answers session which allowed participants to ask questions for further clarity to be given on the issues discussed.

In the end, Mr. Joseph Mensah thanked participants for attending the workshop and cooperating fully to the end. He urged them to practice what they have been taught at the training.

The training workshop was very interactive and successful one.
