BEREKUM EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY APPROVES MCE NOMINEE

The Berekum East Municipal Assembly has approved the President’s Nominee, Hon. Hajia Fatimatu Abubakar as the Berekum East Municipal Chief Executive on 16th April 2025.

The 38-Member Assembly voted 100 percent ‘yes’ in an election conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission in Berekum in the Bono Region.

Mr. Prince Adade, the Assembly Member (AM) for Kutre Number Two Electoral Area was also elected as the Presiding Member, securing 33 ‘yes’ votes after his only contender, Bright Yamoah, the AM for the Awerempe Electoral Area withdrew from the race.

In her acceptance speech, Hon. Hajia Abubakar expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for her nomination and thanked the AMs for her subsequent confirmation.

She pledged to work together with all the stakeholders, especially the AMs and the traditional authorities for the speedy development of the municipality.
