WOMEN INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION ROLLS OUT WISE PROJECT IN SUNYANI MUNICIPAL IN THE BONO REGION

A subsidiary of Plan International Ghana, the Women Integrated Development Organization (WIDO) has through a project called Women Innovation for Sustainable Enterprises (WISE) rolled out its project in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region.

This involved the training of 53 women in Non-traditional Agriculture (snail, mushroom, and beekeeping farming) to ensure improvement in their livelihoods.

After the training thirty-three (33) women were selected (13 for snail and 21 for mushroom) and supported with starter packages (150 spawned mushroom bags each, wire mesh, etc.).

Extension services were provided by the Department to construct the structures, adopt good farm practices, and monitor the activities of the beneficiaries to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
