BONO REGION INTENSIFIES PREPARATIONS TO HOST 42ND NATIONAL FARMERS’ DAY CELEBRATION
The Bono Region has intensified preparations to host the 42nd National Farmers’ Day celebration, with the National Planning Committee and the Local Organising Committee meeting in Sunyani to harmonise arrangements for the national event.
The meeting, held on October 1, 2026, brought together the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa; the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture and Chairman of the National Planning Committee for the 42nd National Farmers’ Day celebration, Hon. John Dumelo (MP); members of the National Planning Committee; members of the Local Organizing Committee; and other key stakeholders.

Discussions focused on coordinating the various aspects of the celebration and ensuring that preparations are aligned towards the successful hosting of the national event in the Bono Region.
The 42nd National Farmers’ Day celebration is expected to provide an opportunity to recognise and honour the contributions of farmers and fisherfolk to food security, employment creation, poverty reduction and Ghana’s broader socio-economic development.
The ongoing coordination between the national and regional planning structures is aimed at delivering a well-organised and memorable celebration in Sunyani.
