There are three (3) existing Agricultural Mechanization Services Centers (AMSECs) in the Region: One (1) established at Wenchi in 2009 and operated by Wenchi Methodist University, and the other two (2) established in 2018 at Dormaa East, Wamfie, and Dormaa West, Nkrakwanta, but are not currently operational; efforts are underway to make them operational through facilitation.

In this quarter, the area ploughed by tractors was 155ha, an increase of about 10.71% compared to 140ha in 2024. Additionally, 970 farmers benefited from mechanization services, compared to 700 farmers in the 3rd quarter of 2024, representing an increase of approximately 38.57%. Four hundred fifty of the farmers who benefited from the mechanization services were females, while 520 were males.

The appreciable number of females benefiting from AMSEC services suggests that AMSECs may be a panacea for the low access to tractor services by women in the Region.

The total number of trainees (tractor owners, operators, and mechanics) on the proper use and handling of farm machinery increased from 65 in the 3rd quarter of 2024 to 70 in 2025, representing a 23% increase.
