BONO REGIONAL MINISTER RECEIVES DEPUTY HEALTH MINISTER TO DISCUSS HEALTHCARE DELIVERY

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, has received the Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, and her delegation at the Bono Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) as part of her working visit to the region.

The delegation, led by the Chief Executive Officer of the Sunyani Teaching Hospital, Dr. Cardinal Newton, paid a courtesy call on the RCC on September 22, 2026, to engage key stakeholders and assess issues affecting healthcare delivery in the Bono Region.

During the engagement, the Deputy Minister appealed for the support of the Regional Coordinating Council, particularly in mobilising resources, funding and other interventions needed to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve the quality of health services available to residents.

Prof. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah highlighted the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in addressing challenges within the health sector and ensuring improved access to quality healthcare across the region.

Hon. Akwaboa assured the delegation of the RCC’s commitment to supporting the health sector and indicated the Council’s readiness to work with relevant authorities to provide the necessary assistance within its capacity.

The Regional Minister expressed appreciation to the Deputy Minister and her delegation for the visit and wished them a successful and productive working engagement in the Bono Region.
