EUROPEAN UNION DELEGATION PAYS COURTESY CALL ON BONO REGIONAL MINISTER OVER CYCLING AND TREE PLANTING INITIATIVE
On 11th March 2026, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, hosted a delegation from the European Union in Ghana together with their event organizers during a courtesy call at his office.
The visit was intended to formally invite the Minister to participate in an ambitious initiative being organized by the European Union. The initiative will feature a long-distance bicycle journey designed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable development.
The cycling expedition is scheduled to begin in Tamale and proceed through Buipe, Kintampo, Techiman, and Sunyani, before continuing to Kumasi, Nkawkaw, and Aburi, ultimately concluding in Accra.
A key component of the initiative is its strong focus on environmental sustainability. As part of the exercise, one thousand tree seedlings are expected to be planted along the route to contribute to environmental conservation and climate action.
The event will also feature the participation of ten ambassadors representing various European countries, who will actively take part in the cycling journey. Their involvement underscores the collaborative spirit of the initiative and highlights the commitment of international partners to promoting environmental sustainability and community engagement across Ghana.
