BONO REGIONAL MINISTER HOSTS NEW MEXICO TECH PROFESSORS TO EXPLORE ACADEMIC COLLABORATION WITH UENR
On 11th March 2026, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, hosted a delegation of professors from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT) during a courtesy call at his office.
The visiting team was led by Professor Corey Leclerc, Dean of Engineering and included Dr. Robert Balch, Director of Petroleum Recovery Research Center; Prof Tan Nguyen, Professor of Petroleum Engineering; and Prof William Ampomah, Professor of Petroleum Engineering.
The meeting provided an opportunity for productive discussions on potential collaboration between the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and New Mexico Tech, particularly focusing on partnerships involving the Petroleum Engineering Department.
Key areas explored included academic cooperation and possible exchange programmes aimed at strengthening research, teaching, and knowledge transfer between the two institutions.
Hon. Akwaboa expressed optimism about the prospects of the partnership, noting that such collaboration could significantly enhance the academic and research capacity of UENR while fostering mutual growth and innovation between the institutions involved. He also conveyed his best wishes for a successful partnership that would contribute to advancing higher education and research development.
