BONO REGIONAL MINISTER HOSTS GHANA PRISONS SERVICE DIRECTOR-GENERAL

On 25th January 2026, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, hosted the Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, and her delegation for a courtesy engagement at his residence.

The meeting provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on strengthening Ghana’s prison system, with particular emphasis on rehabilitation and reintegration programmes aimed at equipping inmates with skills and support to positively reintegrate into society while benefiting their communities.

During the engagement, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa commended Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie and her team for their commitment to reforming and transforming the Ghana Prisons Service. The discussions also explored potential areas of collaboration to enhance inmate welfare, skills development, and capacity-building initiatives, in line with broader regional development objectives.

Both parties expressed optimism about future collaboration and reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing reforms that will contribute to sustainable development and positive social outcomes within the Bono Region and beyond.
