The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, has inaugurated the reconstituted Bono Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) with a call on Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) to prioritize holistic and inclusive development in line with the government’s “Reset Agenda.”

Addressing members at a brief ceremony in Sunyani, which also marked the maiden meeting of the newly reconstituted council, Hon. Akwaboa urged the Assemblies to ensure that all decisions and policies align with the development aspirations of the region. He encouraged staff of the various Assemblies to support their Chief Executives in implementing initiatives that would accelerate local growth and improve livelihoods.

The reconstituted council comprises the Regional Minister, MDCEs, Presiding Members, representatives of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Heads of Departments and Agencies, and the Regional Coordinating Director, as mandated by the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936). Its core mandate is to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the performance of the Municipal and District Assemblies across the region.

Hon. Akwaboa emphasized the need for effective collaboration among stakeholders to drive economic transformation within the Bono Region. He noted that the “Reset Agenda” calls for unity, accountability, and innovation in governance, adding that development efforts should transcend political boundaries to ensure equitable growth.

He further appealed to stakeholders and local development partners to renew their commitment to service delivery and collective progress. “The good people of Bono look to us to drive progress, unity, prosperity, and sustainable development. With diligence and partnership, we will continue to make the Bono Region a model of effective governance and inclusive development,” he stated.
