BONO REGIONAL MINISTER COMMENDS PROGRESS ON UENR MEDICAL SCHOOL PROJECT

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, has commended the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) for the remarkable progress made on its Medical School project.

During a meeting held on 2nd September 2025 with Dr. Samuel Fosu Gyasi, Associate Professor in Microbiology and Global Health and Dean of the School of Sciences, UENR-Ghana, the Minister received a detailed briefing on the project.

According to the update, construction of the UENR Medical School is approximately 80% complete and is on schedule to admit its first cohort of students in January 2026.

The Minister emphasized that this milestone is not only a construction success but also a transformative investment in the future of the Bono Region and the nation. The establishment of the medical school is expected to address the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals, create opportunities for young people, and strengthen the region’s medical infrastructure.

He extended his congratulations to Vice-Chancellor Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako and the UENR team for their visionary leadership and commitment to the initiative.

The Minister further expressed optimism that the UENR Medical School would become a hub of excellence, innovation, and education, significantly shaping the future of healthcare for generations to come.
