On February 20, 2024, the Vice Chancellor of Sunyani Technical University (STU), Professor Ing. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah, along with his management staff, paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Bono Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, at the Regional Coordinating Council. The visit was a gesture of goodwill and support for the minister in his new role.
During the meeting, the STU delegation extended their best wishes to Mr. Akwaboa, expressing their readiness to assist him whenever needed. Given that the minister is a former student and lecturer of the university, the management staff reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties between the institution and the regional administration.

A significant part of the discussion centered on the challenges facing the university, particularly infrastructure deficits. The Vice Chancellor and his team appealed to the minister to leverage his position to help address these pressing issues.
In response, Mr. Akwaboa warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his gratitude for their visit. Acknowledging his deep-rooted connection with STU, he assured them of his commitment to addressing the university’s challenges during his tenure. Additionally, he urged the university’s management to explore ways to process cashew apples into useful commercial products. He emphasized his ambition to ensure establishment of small-scale industries for cashew apple processing, seeing it as a potential avenue for economic growth and job creation in the region.
