MILITARY COMMANDING OFFICERS IN BONO REGION PAY COURTESY CALL ON REGIONAL MINISTER

The Bono Regional Minister, Honourable Joseph Addae Akwaboa, had the honour of receiving the General Officer Commanding the Central Command, Brigadier General Michael Opoku, along with the Commanding Officer of the 3BN Barracks in Sunyani, Lt. Col. Kofi Akoto Appau, during a courtesy call to his office on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the military and the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) to enhance peace and security in the Bono Region, with particular attention to chieftaincy-related matters.

Brigadier General Opoku and his team reaffirmed their commitment to the fight against illegal mining, while Hon. Akwaboa also pledged his full support in addressing the issue. Emphasis was placed on the importance of joint efforts not only in tackling illegal mining but also in protecting the region’s forests and water bodies.

Optimism was expressed that this collaboration would yield positive results in safeguarding the natural environment and ensuring stability in the region.
