MEETING OF BONO REGIONAL HEADS OF DEPARTMENT/AGENCIES AT THE RCC CONFERENCE ROOM

The Bono Regional Heads of Departments/Agencies held their first meeting of the year on Tuesday 28^th February 2023 at the Conference Room of the Bono Regional Coordinating Council.

The programme was graced by the Honourable Bono Regional Minister, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene and the Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. Andrews Okumah Nawil.

The meeting offered the various Heads of Departments/Agencies the opportunity to present their Departments/Agencies objectives, their activities and programmes for the year and status of ongoing projects/activities, as well as review of the previous year’s activities.

Some of the Departments in attendance were Ghana Water Company, Ghana Education Service, Attorney General and Ministry of Justice, Department of Gender, Department of Children, Department of Agriculture, Lands Use and Spatial Planning Authority (LUSPA), National Intelligence Bureau, Ghana Police Service, Food and Drugs Authority, National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), among others.

In her address, the Bono Regional Minister expressed profound gratitude to the  Heads of Departments/Agencies for their support and co-operation during the last year in driving policy implementation which brought appreciable improvement in the lives of the people in the region.

She also touched on the need for public sector organizations to communicate to their stakeholders especially outside their organization since that is key to how clients appreciate the work of public sector organizations and also receive information on the various services that they provide.

“One of such ways is information sharing and dissemination. Realizing how important it is to keep in constant touch with the general public, the RCC has developed and started the management of a website; https://brcc.gov.gh as a platform to showcase our programmes and activities. As Regional Heads of Departments of the RCC, this website is at your disposal too and I urge all to take advantage of this platform to showcase all the impactful activities and interventions that your departments are embarking on”, Madam Banahene said.

She also encouraged heads of Departments to take up the mandate of the Regional Planning Coordinating Unit (RPCU) seriously and contribute meaningfully to its work since the RPCU is the technical wing of the RCC.

Honourable Banahene concluded by calling for the co-operation and commitment of all heads of department to give effect to changes and innovations to bring about best practices.
