GHANA BUFFER STOCK CEO VISITS BONO REGION TO INSPECT WAREHOUSES AND OPERATIONS

On 5th March 2026, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, hosted the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Buffer Stock Company Limited, George Abradu-Otoo, and his team at the Bono Regional Coordinating Council in Sunyani.

The visit formed part of an inspection tour of warehouses and an assessment of the company’s regional operations, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen the National Food Reserve Programme. The exercise aimed to evaluate storage infrastructure and improve the management of strategic food reserves in the Bono Region.

During the engagement, discussions focused on strategies to enhance food security through the effective use of grain reserves and to expand the company’s support for the Ghana School Feeding Programme.

Stakeholders also explored initiatives to promote the consumption of locally grown produce, with the goal of empowering farmers, stabilizing food prices, and strengthening agricultural value chains across the region.

The Regional Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to food safety, food security, and sustainable agricultural development. He also assured the visiting team of the Regional Coordinating Council’s support in advancing initiatives aimed at building a resilient and self-sufficient food system for Ghana.
