CENTRE FOR NATIONAL CULTURE UNDERTAKES CRAFT DEVELOPMENT

Artefacts such as Beads, Fashion Accessories (Fascinators), Earthen-Ware Bowls, Facial Bricks, Sculpture Works, Wood Crafts, Crocheting, Traditional Sandals and drums were crafted throughout the year at the Visual Arts department as well as other District Centres of the CNC.

The aim of the production was to enhance internal revenue generation. Other artistic materials were also explored for their viability for the craft industry in the Region. The Visual Arts Department also supported their Performing Arts Department by donating a crafted Kete Drum Set to enhance performance.

To enhance production of these crafts, a new kiln was developed for beads production.
