Bono Regional Minister Calls For Collaboration Between Regional Peace Council And RegSec For Peace And Security In The Region

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Owusu Banahene (Awo)has advocated effective collaboration between the Regional Peace Council and RESEC to ensure there is peace and harmony in the region.

She made the call when members of the Regional Peace Council paid a courtesy call on her at her office today, 2nd April 2021. At a meeting which was attended by the Chief Director and deputy director, Chairman for Bono Regional Peace Council on behalf of the other members congratulated the New Regional Minister on her new appointment and formally welcomed her to her new office.

In response, the Hon Minister was thankful to the Regional Peace Council for their support and prayers before and during her vetting and the warm reception she had been accorded.

She stressed the need for the Bono Region to have a vibrant Peace Council which will ensure the Bono Region enjoys utmost peace and security which are prerequisite for accelerated development.

The New Bono Regional Minister Awo, as she prefers to be addressed, equally emphasized the need for the Regional Peace Council to join hands with other state institutions such as Chieftaincy, RESEC Lands Commission and Council of RELIGIOUS LEADERS to undertake preventive measures rather than to wait for the misunderstanding to degenerate conflicts before they attempt resolutions. She ended her speech with a solemn pledge to support the Regional Peace Council in all their endeavors.

The Executive Secretary of the Council, Alhaji Soala took time to explain their mode of operations, pointed out some potential conflict zones to the house and finally, thanked the new Regional Minister for her matured exhortation and for demonstrating such high level of commitment to peace and security.
