The Department having received support from USAID through the Head Office for the monitoring of Residential Homes for Children (RHC) and reunified children and young adults as part of Care Reforms Initiative (CRI). It came to light that some households find it difficult to care for the basic needs of the reunified children and young adults hence life is apparently becoming unbearable for them.

In response to these needs, the Head Office in collaboration with USAID procured fifteen (15) packages of food item to be distributed among fifteen selected households in the Bono Region.

This assignment was carried out on the 12th and 16th September,2022 in the following MMDAs in the Bono Region;

  1. Sunyani West Municipal
  2. Sunyani East Municipal
  3. Berekum West Municipal
  4. Dormaa East District
  5. Dormaa Central Municipal

It is important to state that at the time of the distribution, the regional team realized that two out of the fifteen beneficiaries have their livelihoods improved hence they were substituted with more vulnerable households as follows;

Ruth Antwi – Berekum West Municipal

Belinda Sakyiwaa –Sunyani West Municipal

Finally, another household with two reunified young adults also have their caregiver’s livelihoods improved as a results she was given one package and the remaining on left was given to another more vulnerable young adult (female) hence the variation in the distribution.
