ENERGY COMMISSION SENSITIZES STAFF OF BONO RCC ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION
The management of the Bono Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in collaboration with Energy Commission on Monday, 13th May 2024, organized energy efficiency and conservation education and sensitization durbar for staff of the RCC and other departments of the RCC.
The durbar, which was attended by the Honourable Bono Regional Minister, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene and Chief Director of Bono RCC, Mr. Andrews Mensah, took place at the Conference Room of the RCC.
Mr. Andrews Mensah in his opening remarks emphasized the need for the durbar and urged staff present to ensure maximum corporation during the durbar. He reaffirmed management’s commitment to organize durbars periodically to equipped staff with the requisite knowledge from different Agencies /organizations. He advised staff to take notes of the education.
The facilitators from the Energy Commission were Mr. Kennedy Amankwa, Deputy Director, Mr. Samuel Frimpong, Public Affairs Officer, and Ing. John Adjei, Senior Manager Energy Efficiency Regulations.
The facilitators sensitized and educated staff to understand energy efficiency, effects of climate change relative to energy, and to understand energy conservation.
They also educated staff on the features of the Certified Appliances App, a digital tool for accessing services of the Commission.
After the presentation by the facilitators, the participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and all questions were addressed appropriately.
Mr. Alexander Bae-Yeboah (Deputy Director, Administration, Bono RCC) gave the closing remarks and thanked the organizers of the workshop for organizing such an important durbar to sensitize the people.
He recommended that the Energy Commission should partner with other government agencies such as information Services Department, NCCE etc. to reach out to the large audience to educate them on energy issues. He also urged the staff present to propagate the good message to others.
