Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, has expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, for approving the establishment of a state-of-the-art National Signals Bureau (NSB) facility in the Bono Region.
The facility was officially commissioned in Sunyani on 22nd December 2025, following a request made by the Regional Minister to strengthen national security infrastructure in the region.
The commissioning ceremony was presided over by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, and attracted several high-ranking dignitaries.
Among them were Dr. George Atta Boateng, Director-General of the National Signals Bureau; COP Abdul-Osman Razak, National Security Coordinator; and Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs. Their participation highlighted the national importance of the facility and the collective commitment to enhancing Ghana’s security and governance systems.
The Bono Regional Minister also commended the traditional authorities whose presence added significance to the event, as well as the leadership and staff of the National Signals Bureau for their professionalism, dedication, and often understated contributions to national security.

In his welcome address, Hon. Addae Akwaboa emphasized that the new facility would significantly enhance surveillance, intelligence gathering, data analysis, and early warning capabilities.
He noted that the office is expected to strengthen the country’s security architecture by promoting a proactive and preventive approach to security management, rather than a reactive one.
Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the Minister for the Interior, called on all security agencies to utilize the National Signals Bureau to enhance intelligence gathering and improve response times. He emphasized that the facility is a shared resource for all security agencies, enabling them to respond more swiftly and effectively.
“This facility is here to support you, it is not just for the NSB, but is designed to help you gather intelligence collaboratively and operate more efficiently in your daily duties,” he said
