BONO REGIONAL SPORTS AUTHORITY HOLDS MAIDEN SECURITY SERVICE GAMES
The National Sports Authority, Bono Region on Monday, 24th April 2023, organized the first ever Bono Regional Security Service Sports Association (SESSA) Games at the Coronation Park, Sunyani.
In collaboration with the Regional Coordinating Council and Regional Security Council, the Bono Regional Sports Authority put together a sports competition for the various Security Services to promote sports, friendship, and unity among the various security services within the Region.
Participating Services comprised the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana Immigration Service Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service Ghana National Fire Service and the National Ambulance Service.
The Bono Regional Minister, Honorable Justina Owusu-Banahene, in her inaugural remarks for the commencement of the games, stated that it is very important for security agencies to come together and fraternize among themselves while engaging in healthy sporting competitions. The Honorable Minister stressed that this initiative will help personnel in the different services get to know themselves and build networks which will improve their cohesiveness with them in their effort to protect the people of the region and our dear country Ghana in general.
After an exhilarating football game, the Ghana Prison Service emerged as winners of the football games by beating the Ghana Armed Forces by 2 goals to 0 in the finals. The Armed Forces flexed their muscles in the Volleyball contest as they drowned the National Ambulance Service to emerge winners. The Ghana Police Service trampled their way to the finals and crashed the Ghana Immigrations Service to win the Tug of War event.

Obiri-Yeboah (Commanding Officer- 154 Armored Regiment), Lt. Col. Eric Tommey (Commanding Officer- Amour Training School), DDP Williams Kulah (Bono Regional Commander-Ghana Prison Service), DCOP Joseph Gyamera Oklu (Bono Regional Police Commander), Principal AEMT Eric Mills (Deputy Regional Manager of Operations-National Ambulance Service), ACI Prosper Atisu (Ghana Immigration Service) DO Ignatius Neokor (Operations Manager, Ghana National Fire Service) Madam Ruth Quarcoo (Regional Administrator-NSA), Nana Gyaamah Darkwa (Deputy Chief Estate Manager) and other dignitaries.
