ACTIONAID SUPPORTS 30 YOUNG WOMEN WITH STARTUP TOOLS IN BONO AND AHAFO REGIONS
As part of ActionAid efforts to reduce unemployment in the country, the Bono and Ahafo Regional Office of Actionaid have presented start up tools to 30 young women in Sunyani.
The presentation of the equipment forms part of the training they received from ActionAid.
The 30 women were trained on Beads making,Pastries,Tie and Dye,Make up,Hairdressing and Dress making.
At a ceremony in Sunyani the Bono and Ahafo Regional Programs Officer of Actionaid Yaw Osei Boateng stated that ActionAid is implementing the Young Urban Women Project in 5 regions in the country.
He said ActionAid has facilitated the mobilization of young women in three districts in the Bono Region and so far about 500 young women have been selected into the Young Urban Women Movement .
According to him, under the project 30 young women have been trained on hand skills work and it is important Actionaid support them with start up equipment so that they can start their own work in order to support their family.
He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment and also train others in their various communities.
The Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive Hon.Ansu Kumi who presented the tools to the beneficiaries commended ActionAid for their effort in reducing unemployment in the country.
He also urged them to make good use of the training they have acquired and work hard in order to achieve a better life in future.
He promised to visit them at their workplaces.
One of the beneficiaries who spoke to the media on behalf of her colleagues commended ActionAid for the gesture and promised to take good care of the equipment.
