BONO FEEDER ROADS DEPARTMENT REPORTS ON ACTIVITIES UP TO SECOND QUARTER OF 2026

The Department of Feeder Roads in the Bono Region has undertaken various routine maintenance activities since the beginning of 2026.
The contracts listed below are ongoing periodic maintenance projects in the region and under the Ghana Road Fund. The contracts are at various stages of completion.

1. Upgrading ( Tarring) of Dorbor – Brohani (13.0 Km), Adediem – Dorbor (4.5KM), Dorbor – Kogyee (0.80km) Feeder roads (17.89km)
2. Upgrading ( Tarring) Wamnafo – Gambia No.2 Feeder roads (32.30)
3. Upgrading ( Tarring) Nsoutre – Kwamekuma Feeder roads (16.8km)
4. Renovation of office and Regional Managers’ accommodation
5. Upgrading (Tarring) of Nsapor town roads (2.60 Km)

Summary of Progress
Five periodic maintenance contracts are currently under implementation across the region.
• Clearing and formation completed and drainage works are ongoing on the Dorbor–Brohani/Adediem–Dorbor/Dorbor–Kogyee and Wamnafo–Gambia No. 2 feeder roads.
• Clearing works are ongoing on the Nsoutre–Kwamekuma feeder road.
• The Nsapor Town Roads project has achieved substantial progress, with drainage structures, sub-base and base works completed.
• The Aboabo No. 3–Mantewere–Asikasu road project is progressing steadily, with clearing and drainage works completed on significant sections.
• The Regional Office and Regional Manager’s accommodation renovation has reached an advanced stage, with roofing, electrical, ceiling and tiling works completed.

Contract Implementation Status
Between 2025 and 2026, the Department awarded 96 contracts covering routine maintenance, periodic maintenance and infrastructure renovation works. Of these, 54 routine maintenance contracts have been completed, while 42 contracts remain under implementation.
Under the Periodic Maintenance Programme financed by the Ghana Road Fund, the Department is currently upgrading a total of 70.32 km of six (6) projects located across various districts in the region. These projects are at different stages of execution, ranging from clearing and formation works to drainage construction and pavement works.
In addition, two (2) contracts for the renovation of the Regional Office and the Regional Manager’s accommodation are ongoing and have recorded significant progress, with major roofing, electrical, ceiling and tiling works substantially completed.
