On 15th July 2025, the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs (MLGCRA), in collaboration with officials from GIZ, paid a courtesy visit to the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa.

The meeting aimed to provide a comprehensive briefing on the implementation of the Network for Inclusive Local Economic Development (NILED) and to discuss strategies for disseminating and promoting the Local Economic Development (LED) Policy within the Bono Region.

The MLGCRA, recognizing the overlap between the LED Forum and the Enterprise Development and Employment Promotion (EDEP) initiative supported by GIZ’s Private and Financial Sector (PFS) Programme and implemented in five beneficiary regions including Bono, a series of alignment meetings were organized.

These meetings involved stakeholders from MLGCRA, GIZ, Regional Coordinating Councils (RCCs), and the EDEP stakeholders, with the goal of streamlining the operations of both initiatives.

Following the discussions, the name “Network for Inclusive Local Economic Development (NILED)” was officially adopted as the unified platform moving forward.

Hon. Akwaboa warmly in his remarks welcomed the delegation and expressed his full support for the NILED initiative. He encouraged continued collaboration and assured the team of his openness and readiness to provide support whenever needed.

He also wished all participants fruitful deliberations as they work to advance inclusive local economic development in the region.
