BONO REGIONAL MINISTER VISITS SUNYANI TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, COMMITS TO SUPPORTING GROWTH

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, paid a working visit to Sunyani Technical University (STU) on 5th August 2025. The visit held a special significance as the Minister is both an alumnus and a former lecturer of the institution.

During the visit, he engaged with the Vice Chancellor and top management of the university, where he was briefed on the institution’s recent developments and achievements.

STU currently boasts four faculties offering a total of 92 academic programmes, a Graduate School with 13 master’s degree programmes, and a student population of approximately 10,000.

While acknowledging these milestones, discussions also focused on the key challenges confronting the university.

These include a shortage of hostel facilities, the need for enhanced inner-school network connectivity, and the completion of the stalled astroturf pitch project.

The Minister expressed a strong commitment to working collaboratively with the university’s management to help resolve these issues.

He emphasized his desire to contribute meaningfully to the university’s progress and to leave a lasting legacy at the institution that significantly shaped his academic and professional journey.
