BONO REGIONAL MINISTER OPENS REGIONAL COMPOSITE BUDGET HEARINGS FOR 2026-2029
The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, addressed the Regional Composite Budget Hearings for the 2026–2029 budget cycle in the Sunyani Municipality on 23rd October 2025, on behalf of the Minister of Finance, Hon. Ato Forson.
In his address, the Regional Minister underscored the importance of strict adherence to the legal and policy frameworks that govern the budget preparation and approval process.
He drew attention to key legislative provisions, including Regulation 17(3) of the Public Financial Management Regulations, 2019 (L.I. 2378), the Public Procurement (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1139), and other relevant statutes that guide the prudent and transparent use of public funds.

Hon. Akwaboa also highlighted the fundamental principles underpinning the budgeting process, outlining expectations for the hearings and the significance of aligning proposals with national priorities.
He commended the Municipal and District Assemblies (MDAs) for their continued commitment to sound financial management and their contributions to the region’s development agenda.
He expressed optimism that the deliberations would produce a budget that not only addresses pressing developmental needs but also lays a solid foundation for a more sustainable, prosperous, and equitable future for the Bono Region and the nation at large.
