BONO REGIONAL MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN GAF MARCH AND SHOOT COMPETITION
The 3BN Barracks in Sunyani was filled with vibrant displays of discipline, precision, and teamwork as the 2025 March and Shoot Competition of the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces took place on 22nd August 2025.
The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, joined by Hon. Vincent Antwi-Adjei, the Municipal Chief Executive of Sunyani, together with the Municipal Chief Executives of Dormaa Central and Berekum East and the District Chief Executive of Dormaa East, witnessed the spirited contest.
At the end of the closely contested competition, the 154 Armoured Regiment emerged overall champions, demonstrating their rigorous training, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.

In his remarks, Hon. Akwaboa emphasized the importance of such skills in tackling the growing security challenges confronting both the Bono Region and the nation.
The Minister also participated in an Amusement Shooting orientation exercise, which provided firsthand insights into the operational readiness and capabilities of Ghana’s armed forces. He commended the General Officer Commanding the Central Command and the Commanding Officer of the 3rd Infantry Battalion for organizing the impactful event and expressed appreciation for the invitation to participate.
On behalf of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Akwaboa reaffirmed government’s continuous support for the men and women in uniform, expressing confidence in their dedication to safeguarding the region and the nation against evolving security threats.
