BONO REGIONAL MINISTER HOSTS MTN GHANA DELEGATION TO STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP
The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, on July 30, 2026, received a delegation from MTN Ghana during a courtesy call at the Regional Coordinating Council in Sunyani. The visit formed part of the telecommunications company’s annual engagement with key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and foster strategic partnerships.
During the meeting, the MTN Ghana delegation highlighted the company’s 30th anniversary and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ghana’s socioeconomic development through digital transformation, financial inclusion, and sustained investment. The officials also expressed appreciation for the Minister’s support in promoting Mobile Money services and efforts to protect telecommunications infrastructure. They further indicated MTN’s interest in exploring additional investment opportunities within the Bono Region.
In response, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa commended MTN Ghana for establishing a customer service office in Berekum, noting that the facility has eased congestion at the Sunyani office while improving access to telecommunications services for residents.
The Minister also encouraged the company to deepen its investment in the region by expanding and strengthening network coverage, particularly in smaller towns and underserved communities. He reaffirmed the Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance telecommunications infrastructure and improve digital connectivity across the Bono Region.
The engagement underscored the shared commitment of the Bono Regional Coordinating Council and MTN Ghana to advancing digital inclusion, expanding access to communication services, and promoting sustainable socioeconomic development through stronger public-private collaboration.
