The Bono Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), in partnership with the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) and the Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association (BARFA), has officially launched the Regional Minister’s Cup on 21st November 2025.

The press launch, held at the RCC conference hall in Sunyani, highlighted the participation of prominent local teams, including Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Football Club in the main encounter. A curtain-raiser match between BA United Football Club and Tano Bofoakwa Football Club will precede the main encounter.

The tournament is scheduled to take place on December 24, 2025, at the Dormaa Sports Stadium, hosted by Aduana FC.

During the official launch of the competition, Bono Regional Minister Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa announced that Aduana FC and Berekum Chelsea FC will each receive an appearance fee of GH₵40,000. Boafokwa Tano FC and BA United FC will also receive GH₵20,000 each for their participation.

Hon. Akwaboa noted that winners of the competition would receive trophies, medals, and cash prizes, describing the event as the start of a tradition that aims to enhance football development in the region, deepen community ties, and promote sports growth.

He emphasized that beyond the on-field competition, the cup represents values such as discipline, teamwork, and unity—qualities essential for building stronger communities and fostering regional progress.

He further commended GHALCA for its dedication to domestic football development and its support for clubs across the country.

The Minister encouraged participating teams to uphold professionalism, sportsmanship, and fair play, stressing that the tournament should be remembered for both exciting football and respect for the game.

GHALCA Chairman Mr. John Kofi Ansah praised the Bono Region for pioneering this regional football initiative and pledged the Association’s commitment to prioritizing the region in future tournaments.

The launch marked the introduction of a new competition designed to revitalize football across the Bono Region.
