BONO AND EDUCATION MINISTERS JOIN STAKEHOLDERS AT 63RD CHASS ANNUAL CONFERENCE

On 8th October 2025, the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, joined the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Members of Parliament for Sunyani East and Sunyani West, Hon. Mubarak Seid and Hon. Amankwah Yeboah Millicent respectively, the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako, traditional leaders, and other dignitaries at the 63rd Annual Conference of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).

The event was held at the Bank of Ghana Auditorium of UENR in Sunyani.

The President of CHASS and Headmaster of Opoku Ware Senior High School, Rev. Fr. Stephen Owusu Sekyere, addressed the gathering and outlined a number of challenges confronting the association.

In response, the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, addressed the concerns raised, noting that several of the issues had already been resolved, while others were being addressed by the Ministry.

Speaking at the conference, which was themed “Ensuring Comprehensive, Equitable, and Sustainable Secondary Education in Ghana: The Role of Stakeholders,” the Bono Regional Minister commended CHASS for its commitment to educational excellence and assured participants of the Regional Coordinating Council’s full support during their stay in the Bono Region.

He further wished the conference a successful and productive deliberation.
